Despite the clouds and rainfall of the day, something happened for the first time in the history of our nation and Finland, and that is that during cruise season 2011-2012, the Kristina Cruise line began their transit in Sans Souci Port.
This cruise ship arrived with 400 passengers on board to the Dominican Republic, last Wednesday the 18th, with Finnish cruise tourists and crew members.
During that year, there will be four scheduled stops in the Santo Domingo Port using the Don Diego Terminal facilities.
The international guests were received at the compass of typical music, lead by the Folkloric Ballet of the Ministry of Tourism. They also set up stands where Dominican products such as cigars and ceramic dolls where displayed. The tourists also sampled locally produced goods such as beer, rum, coffee and chocolate.
The exchanging of plaques between the ship and the port was carried out by Mikko Partanen, captain of the Kristina, and Frederic Schad, of the naval agency Schad C. por A.
