Santo Domingo. The electronic music scene will pump up the volume with the presence of Paul Oakenfold, one of the most renowned figures within the genre worldwide.

The date is set for lovers of the genre, March 8th at the Sans Soucí Marina, a key spot known for presenting artists of this caliber,  and, sans doubt, Oakenfold’s presence, is a definite upgrade.

Oakenfold (born in the UK in 1963), has had a vast trajectory, and has served as opening act in events such as Madonna concerts and Irish rock band U2.

Prior to his presentation in Santo Domingo, he will perform in Dubai, UAE; London, England; Hollywood, Florida; and other cities.

Orange and tPago Sign Interlinkage Agreement

Santo Domingo. The companies Orange and GCS Systems signed an agreement in order to interlink their platforms, in order to allow Orange customers to access the services offered by GCS throughout the telecomm company network. This agreement was signed between Jean Marc Harion, president of Orange Dominicana, and Manuel Alejandro Grullón Hernández, president of GCS Systems.

The agreement establishes transactional facilities for managing personal finances and mobile payments in real-time, as well as commercial in nature via their tPago product from all Orange customers GSM mobiles, regardless the modality of the underwritten contract held with the company. tPago is an avant-garde service and exclusive in the market to offer mobile payment facilities.

Member customers whom access this novelty service will be able to access it effective February and will only require to dial *150#, and from the main menu select which option to use, in real time, be ir airtime refills (calling cards), funds transfers, bill payments, and shopping at member establishments, as well as ledger and balance consults and transactional history.

Jean Marc Harion remarked that “this agreement with GCS Systems is a step forward aimed to ease the life of our customers. Our networks will offer the security they require for the proper result of the service, via which we will attain customer satisfaction”.

Manuel Alejandro Grullón Hernández thanked Orange Dominicana for the trust bestowed upon his company, at the same time that the expressed how the insertion of this system into telephony expands the able population segment in order to attain the mobile payments system through tPago.

GCS is an facilitator of mobile payments, which by using its platform integrated different types of businesses, such as banks, telecomm companies, services companies, and shopping establishments, with the purposes of providing customers the option of issuing all type of transactions with these institutions from the comfort of their mobile phone.

This service is offered currently through Banco Popular, BanReservas and Banco BHD, and, gradually, other banks of the national financial system will also integrate to the platform.

UNAPEC Implements tPago System in Favor of Students

DR. APEC University and the company GCS SYSTEMS, Ltd. signed an agreement of enforcement enabling the mobile payments tool tPago, with the purpose of “improving the service offered to the student body and our commitment towards technology”, explained Provost Justo Pedro Castellanos.

The agreement was signed by Castellanos on behalf of APEC, while Manuel Alejandro Grullón Hernández signed on behalf of GCS SYSTEMS, whom pointed out that “this is our first firm step forward towards working in the educational sector, and whom better than UNAPEC to begin, given that it holds a solid relationship with innovation and technology, two of our core pillars”.

Students can now perform all types of transactions by way of this new tool, that will issue an invoice for their records as of their second semester of enrollment.
